Many times when people hire professional carpet cleaners to clean the carpets, it’s not because they’re lazy, it’s because they don’t have all the right equipment, or the are unable to lift the heavy furniture in order to do the job themselves. But, what they would like to do, is have the carpet cleaner come do his professional job of cleaning, and spend all this time doing the tasks that only he’s able to do, while the homeowner assists in order to get the best job possible. So just exactly what can you do in order to get ready for your professional carpet cleaning technicians?
The first thing, and one of the hardest things for the professional to do as well, is to pick up all the clutter on the floors and furniture in order to make it easy to clean and move around. A lot of clutter sitting on the furniture is difficult to handle because the workers have no idea what to do with it, and don’t want to be responsible for it. Next it would be good to do a complete and thorough vacuum, going all the way to the walls, and leaving no stone unturned.
Any light furniture that is easy to move into a room where you have no carpet would also be a good idea. Some small items like plant stands and lamps can be a little bit fragile, so the technicians have to be extra careful and move slowly while moving them, taking care of that portion of the job can save quite a bit of time. Any valuable items that could either be lost or stolen should be locked away and out of sight, your carpet cleaners don’t need to know they exist and would rather not be responsible for them becoming lost. Plus, be sure to put your dog and cat in a separate room where they won’t be a bother, and also so they can’t walk in any of the cleaning chemicals during the process.
Cleaning carpets is a difficult job that requires plenty of hard work, combined with thoughtful care for the belongings of the client. Anything that the customer can do to eliminate some of that work can go a long ways towards getting a more complete cleaning of your valuable carpet.
